Anchor Point is a scenic and storied coastal town located on Alaska’s Kenai Peninsula, proudly holding the title as the westernmost point on the U.S. highway system. Just a short drive north of Homer, this charming community offers a front-row seat to the natural beauty of Cook Inlet, with jaw-dropping views of the Aleutian volcanoes 🌋, unforgettable sunsets 🌅, and direct access to the great outdoors.

Anchor Point is a rural community of almost 2,000 residents located between Soldotna and Homer. The Anchor River is a well known destination for fishing during the summertime. There are magnificent views of  Iliamna, Redoubt, and Augustine which can be spotted from the coast on a clear day. Also a popular place to spot bald eagles.

💫 A Rich History Rooted in Exploration
The town got its name from an old legend—said to be the spot where Captain James Cook lost an anchor while exploring the coastline in the late 1700s ⚓. Today, Anchor Point continues to honor its frontier roots, blending rugged independence with warm hospitality. Locals are proud stewards of the land, living in harmony with nature and sharing a deep respect for Alaska’s rich heritage.
