Big Lake, Alaska

Roughly an hour North of Anchorage, Big Lake is an outdoor recreational haven.  This lake front area plays host to a variety of seasonal outdoor activities, ranging from boating, jet skiing, hiking, and swimming in the summer to skiing, snow shoeing, snow machining, ice fishing, and ice skating in the winter.  Although small compared to most communities, with an approximated population of 3,000 habitants, Big Lake’s Chamber of Commerce’s main focus is growth.
